Indian Ocean was matchless of the many ephemeral outlets for avant-gardist Arthur Russell's love of saltation music. The multi-instrumentalist and composer, wHO power be known more for his violoncello make than his contribution to the underground New York golf club scene of the late '70s and early '80s, released the Indian Ocean individual "Tree House/School Bell" in 1986. It was one of his final dance-related productions and was released on Sleeping Bag, the label he started earlier in the tenner with William Socolov. Featuring a bright dub-influenced conflate by buy at collaborator Walter Gibbons (an unannounced digit of dance euphony in his have right), the single hardly appealed to the dance floor as a good deal as other Russell projects, such as Dinosaur's "Kiss Me Again" or Loose Joints' "Is It All Over My Face?" Instead, the lackadaisical song was chiefly built on a bare, skipping percussive vallecula with Russell's high-pitched, quavering voice on spinning top and some blurts from trombone instrumentalist Peter Zummo.

The Mamma Mia! star desired the role of Karen Blixen in the 1985 film, just had to prove she was more than but a revered leading madam.

She recalls, "I went (to the hearing), pathetically, in a very low-cut blouse with a push-up bandeau."

Drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment) had a insight that gave birth to the band Transatlantic. He pictured a band of himself, Neal Morse (Spock's Beard), and Jim Matheos (Fates Warning). As it off out, Morse was available, merely Matheos was non. Morse came up with the idea of recruiting Roine Stolt (Flower Kings) instead, and all that was left wing was a bassist. Portnoy contacted Marillion's Pete Trewavas and the radical was plant. They recorded and released their first album, SMPTe, in 2000, working about everyone's main band obligations. Since that time, they have released a live video/CD place and Bridge Across Forever. Both of those releases came tabu in 2001.

Cate Blanchett - Blanchetts Plea To Prime Minister Over Australian Exhibit

Actress CATE BLANCHETT has signed an open letter to Australian Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD - urging him not to censor a controversial photography exhibition.

Police in Sydney, Australia, shut down an exhibition of photographs by respected artist Bill Henson last week (beg19May08) because the show featured naked pictures of 12 and 13-year-old children.

The move has sparked a heated debate in the country over the line between art and pornography.

And Blanchett has come to the defence of the exhibition, insisting Rudd should not block Henson's work.

The letter reads: "We should remember that an important index of social freedom, in earlier times or in repressive regimes elsewhere in the world, is how artists and art are treated by the state.

"We wish to make absolutely clear that none of us endorses, in any way, the abuse of children. Henson's work has nothing to do with child pornography and, according to the judgment of some of the most respected curators and critics in the world, it is certainly art."

Royworld, Dust

Dust

Video

London quartet Royworld are constantly touring at the moment! They release their new single, 'Dust', on 19th May 2008 through Virgin Records. It's taken from the band's forthcoming debut album 'Man In The Machine' released on 2nd June.

Fronted by Rod Futrille, Royworld have a unique way of creating their monolithic, skyscraping songcraft. The songwriting process in itself is unusual as it is split between Rod and his brother Crispin who does not feature in the Royworld line-up for the recording process nor their live shows. The band of close friends then delivers the Futrilles' brainchild to devastating effect.

A strong combination of Royworld's debut single, 'Man In The Machine' released in March, and their breath taking nationwide live shows has quickly moved them to the forefront of the latest handful of new British acts set to do well in 2008.
